Topic A: Prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism Money laundering and funding of terrorism are not generally associated with financial instability, but they should be. These activities are not only the secondary effects or the precursors of crime often wind and even serious acts of barbarism: they also affect human beings and institutions, in other circumstances, would not be affected. When financial institution is used unintentionally by elements criminals or terrorists, it may compromise reputation. If staff members are plotting with criminal elements to launder funds or financial some of the terrorists, the damage can be far more high. Those dealing with an institution that we discovers that whitened money may also see their reputations tarnished and in a financial centre is widely perceived as vulnerable to money laundering, other operators to keep investing For some countries, the economic and financial impact could be significant.
Topic B: Electoral violence in the Sub-Saharan region
Emphasizing the importance of the rule of law as one of the key elements of conflict prevention, peacekeeping, conflict resolution and peace building, the Security Council needs to address the situations in sub Saharan Africa in which the fundamental right of freedom and democracy is endangered by the government itself, all this against international law, and makes them responsible for committing serious violations of humanitarian and human rights norms. The committee wants to find a coordinated strategy to address the situation of electoral violence that are taking place in Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, Egypt and those dictatorial regimes that use their legitimate weapons against their own population o maintain in power.
