Security Council (SC) |
Friday, 01 February 2008 |
The UN Charter gives the Security Council primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. The Council may convene at any time, whenever peace is threatened. Under the Charter, all Member States are obligated to carry out the Council's decisions.
At the European Model United Nations the countries of the Security Council will be represented by a pair of two delegates from different countries, thus making the total number of participants in the Council thirty. In your own interest and the interest of your delegation we advise you to conduct thorough pre-conference preparation and coordination with your partner delegate. It will be crucial for putting your argument forward and presenting a stable negotiating position during the thematic debate.
Please find the the members of the Security Council in the this list.
